Parker Stewart isn’t quite ready to name a favorite. Not yet, anyway. The 2017 Union City (TN) shooting guard needs the next few days to let it all sink in.

Make no mistake about it, though. Stewart had fun this past weekend on his official visit to Ole Miss. His whole family was there. He got to take in a football game. He toured the campus and facilities. He checked out all the amenities of The Pavilion, which opened in January. 

Overall, it went well.

Perhaps better yet, the 6-foot-4 bucket getter got to evaluate the differences between Ole Miss and Kansas State, where he took an official visit on August 26.

“They are toward the top of my list and that’s why I had them first,” he said. “It was good to see those two different school and the comparison between them.”

Stewart raved about the atmosphere at Ole Miss, especially on football weekends, and The Pavilion. He spoke very highly of K-State’s facilities.

The first two trips have left him with a decision to make soon.

“These next few days I’m going really decide if I really want to take my next two visits I have set up to Nebraska and Wyoming or if I just want to choose a school,” explained Stewart, who is scheduled to visit Nebraska next weekend. “I’ve seen all four of the schools that I’m down to so it’s just kind of choosing a school before someone else chooses the school for me, like someone else decides to take the scholarship and they don’t have any to give.

“So I just want to play it safe.”

At the end of the day, Stewart knows what he is looking for, and that means he could make his choice fairly soon. He will sign with a program in November.

“I’m just looking for the school that’s the right fit for me, and the system that’s the right fit for me as well. I have pretty good relationships with all of the schools, so that’s important, too,” he said. “Just seeing what school I think I fit into and where I can make an impact at.”
