All eyes were on Darryl Morsell as he tore the blue wrapping paper with his commitment announcement inside. Perhaps a few people at Mount Saint Joseph (MD) knew where the senior guard from Baltimore was going, but he made it official on Wednesday.

"I'll be staying home," Morsell announced as he turned the picture around.

Morsell, a 2017 prospect, is headed to Maryland and joins IMG Academy (FL) big man Bruno Fernando in the class to help provide a foundation for head coach Mark Turgeon and the Terrapins in the future.

A 6-foot-3 combo guard who took an official visit to Maryland in October, Morsell averaged 10.6 points and 5.1 rebounds as a junior and chose the Terrapins over other finalists Notre Dame and Dayton.
