Top 5 Phenom Hoops National Showcase Games To Watch On FloHoops
The top five games to watch at the Phenom Hoops National High School Showcase exclusively on FloHoops.
The Phenom Hoops National High School Showcase is less than a week away, and FloHoops is ready to bring you exclusive live coverage of the premier event in Greensboro, North Carolina.
With so much to keep an eye on throughout the November 11-12 weekend at Greensboro Day School, there are absolutely some key, can't-miss games to watch.
Overview: Here comes the nation's top team in its first non-home game of the season. What more needs to be said? But if that is not enough, there will be a plethora of high-major talent on both squads to make this highly entertaining from an individual standpoint as well. Oak Hill boasts a loaded roster, including three 2017 Flo40 prospects, while Word of God features North Carolina-bound big man Brandon Huffman and Washington-bound point guard Blake Harris. There also is a little revenge factor for Oak Hill. While it might not be the same squad, the Warriors suffered their lone loss last season in the event, and all the talk has been to showcase their dominance. This is Oak Hill's first chance to do just that.
Overview: One of the feature teams that just cracked the FloHoops Preseason Top 25, Providence Day is an intriguing guard-oriented squad that will cause matchup problems all season long. With 2018 Flo40 guard Devon Dotson leading the charge, it will be hard to take any focus away from this matchup, because Greenfield School, although not as deep, has a bucket-getting junior backcourt of North Carolina commitment Coby White and Elijah McCadden to make this a challenge worth watching from start to finish.
Overview: Playing in your home gym has many perks, and Greensboro Day has the luxury of staying put and bringing in a big-time crowd for a Saturday afternoon showdown. The Bengals will be one of the more experienced teams in the entire field and having home-court advantage makes them a dangerous squad. Don't sleep on York Prep, though. Sophomore big man DJ Burns can play and could help potentially spoil the hosts' opener.
Overview: A fresh team with athleticism takes on top-ranked Oak Hill, which will be playing its second game in less than 24 hours. Cannon School was already the wild card team in this field but has a lot of versatility in the backcourt, including 6-foot-7 wing Jairus Hamilton. It will be a good gut check for Oak Hill, because it already knows Cannon School will be hungry and give the Warriors its best shot possible with this opportunity.
Overview: This game is significant. Not only does it feature the likes of 2018 forward Giir Ring from Christ School, who is the cousin of NBA player Luol Deng, but it also is the first game of FloHoops' jam-packed live-event season. Not to mention, Forsyth Country Day was the original host to the event before it got moved to Greensboro Day School. Watch out for FCDS combo guard Brandon Mayhan to make an early statement to start the showcase.
