No further validation was needed. Bishop Montgomery (CA) had already proven it was good. But just in case anyone was on fence, or even still doubted, Tuesday night should be more than enough to solidify the No. 7 Knights' elite status.

Take down nationally ranked California powers Sierra Canyon and Mater Dei this postseason? Been there, done that. It was time to add another top 15 win to an already impressive resume.

After taking two losses to Chino Hills last season, Bishop Montgomery took care of the high-scoring, 14th-ranked Huskies 87-80 in the CIF State Open Division Regional semifinals at El Camino College in Torrance, CA. The Knights advance to play No. 9 Mater Dei (CA) on Saturday for the chance to go to the state finals.

Once again, the duo of 2018 Flo40 guard David Singleton (25) and guard Ethan Thompson (23) dazzled for Bishop Montgomery, combining for 48 points.

LiAngelo Ball scored 25 points in his final game for Chino Hills, and his brother, 2019 Flo40 guard LaMelo Ball, added 14 in the loss.

Is the work over? Absolutely not. There are more games to play in order to win a coveted state title. It's just time to quit sleeping on Bishop Montgomery as it continues its unscathed run through the playoffs.
