For anyone wondering how or when Shane Heirman was going to impact the college game, all it took was one week. Not only was the relationship he built with Tyger Campbell good enough to earn a commitment, but DePaul will also get the Flo40 point guard a year earlier than expected.

On Monday, the 6-foot floor general for La Lumiere School (IN) and Spiece Indy Heat went off the board to the Blue Demons for the 2018-19 season. Scout's Evan Daniels confirmed Campbell will reclassify from 2019 to 2018.

DePaul was always a school interest. The Chicago-based program had been on Campbell's radar for a couple of years now.

However, when his former high school coach Heirman was hired as a Blue Demons assistant, it became a reality. Campbell chose DePaul over the likes of Illinois, Memphis, Michigan State, Missouri, and Wake Forest, among several other high-major programs.

The prep hoops world still gets one final season of this elite point guard, but the drama and suspense will only take place on the court because his recruitment is over. And it all starts this weekend during Nike EYBL Session III in Atlanta.
