Montverde Academy's R.J. Barrett Headlines Latest List-Trimming Party
Montverde Academy (FL) shooting guard R.J. Barrett was one of several high-profile prospects to recently narrow down his final recruiting list.
The added suspense can arrive at any moment. These days, all it takes is a simple press of the send button to create shockwaves across the country. Although there is no deadline or limit to it, the future fortune of programs can begin with a prospect cutting its list of potential landing spots, and several high-profile players have taken that next step in the last few days.
The most significant list is that of Montverde Academy (FL) guard R.J. Barrett. Not only did the 6-foot-5 bucket-getter and former 2019 No. 1 prospect reclassify to 2018, but he also trimmed his possible schools to five. And probably very wisely, he did so in alphabetical order so no one could read anymore into it.

The most creative of the recent group has to go to 2018 Flo40 No. 15 and Roselle Catholic (NJ) big man Naz Reid, who cut his list to just Arizona and LSU.

Then, of course, there were the edits with several lists sizes.
It started with David Duke dropping his final five.

It went to eight, which seems like the popular number lately, with Kaden Archie, Colin Castleton, and Jaedon Ledee.

It also went up to as many as 10 with 2018 Flo40 No. 11 Simi Shittu.

There are bound to be several more lists in the coming days, which will only heat recruitment up even more and add to the buzz these prospects created.
