Nike EYBL Prospect Pass: Bradley Beal Elite's Darius Garland

Whether it’s pulling up for a jumper or heading straight to the rack, going right or left, it’s hard to find anyone in the high school game with a more deadly hesitation dribble than Darius Garland. It’s what makes the Bradley Beal Elite (MO) floor general so tough to stop. It’s what makes him the best point guard in the country.

During the first two weekends of Nike EYBL, the 6-foot Garland made the hardwood his personal playground to show off his overall game. The Flo40 No. 9 prospect for 2018 was steady in Session I being more of a facilitator before taking it to another level in Session II.

At Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse in Westfield, IN, with coaches from the likes of Auburn, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Louisville and Wake Forest, among others, sitting courtside, Garland dazzled, including going for 32 points against Nike Team Florida (FL) in the opener and stuffing the stat sheet with 24 points, five rebounds, and eight assists versus Team CP3 (NC).

Through eight games, Garland is averaging 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 47 percent from the floor to help his squad earn a 5-3 overall record. He’s been stellar, and what’s scary is the best is yet to come.
