Why Will Richardson's Play Will Be Vital To Oak Hill's National Title Hopes

null

To absolutely no surprise, Oak Hill Academy (VA) has a roster loaded with talent, boasts a top-notch schedule, and is slated to be highly ranked to start the season. The pursuit of another DICK’S Nationals title, however, will likely rest on the shoulders of one of the new players on campus.

With Matt Coleman, last year’s primary point guard, and lethal scorer Lindell Wigginton now in college, the Warriors absolutely need someone to run the offense effectively in order to make it to the promise land.

Enter Will Richardson.

At 6-foot-3, Richardson is the ideal floor general to keep Oak Hill at the highest of levels. The 2018 prospect is poised under pressure and can drive in the lane to get his shot or dish it off. Not only did his play this summer in averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game for Each 1 Teach 1 (FL) at Nike Peach Jam prove he can handle the role, but he also became a highly touted recruit with some of the nation’s top college programs in heavy pursuit to land him for next season.

So while several eyes will be on 2018 Flo40 No. 10 Keldon Johnson and his incredible ability to score the basketball, the high-flying dunks of transfer Keyontae Johnson, the playmaking of 2019 Flo40 No. 38 Josh Nickelberry, and the powerful moves of big man David McCormack, for starters, know Richardson’s play at the point guard position will be just as vital to the Warriors’ hopes of hanging another national title banner as any player this season.
