Collin Sexton Shows Out at Nike EYBL Session 4

Michael Porter Jr, Collin Sexton and more all had standout performances at the Nike EYBL Session 4.

The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) had its last session before the Peach Jam, and it did not disappoint. Several players enjoyed standout performances in Session 4, including the guys below.

Top Five Performers:

1. 2017 6’ 9” SF Michael Porter, Jr. (Mokan Elite) 38 points, 18 rebounds, 13-20 FG, 10-12 FT
Porter, Jr. is a serious contender for EYBL regular-season MVP. He capped off his great regular season with a monster 38-point, 18-rebound performance against Team Penny, which is tied atop the Peach Jam regular-season standings at 14-2. Porter, Jr. led Mokan Elite to a 13-3 regular-season record, and averaged 22.8 points and 10.9 rebounds on the year while shooting .587 from the field.

2. 2017 6’ 2” PG Collin Sexton (Southern Stampede) 44 points, 10 rebounds, 18-20 FT, 12-22 FG
In the battle for the state of Georgia, the Southern Stampede took down the Georgia Stars 85-83 behind a huge performance from Sexton. He hit the game-winning three as time expired to take down the Georgia Stars and finished with a regular-season-high 44 points. Sexton led the EYBL in scoring, and averaged 31.7 points to go along with 5.6 rebounds per game on the year.

3. 2017 6’ 2” PG Trae Young (Mokan Elite) 40 points, 11 assists, 3 steals, 14-21 FG, 9-10 FG
Young is another strong contender for EYBL regular-season MVP. He averaged 21.3 points, 7.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on the year. Mokan Elite blew out Elfrid Payton Elite 106-69 behind 40 points and 11 assists from their star point guard. Young only missed seven shots from the field, and went a perfect 11-11 from inside the three-point line, although he struggled from beyond the arc, 3-10.

4. 2017 6’ 5” SG Chaundee Brown (Nike South Beach) 37 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 14-23 FG, 9-11 FT
Brown has been one of the biggest stock risers of the summer, averaging 19.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He went off for 37 points and 12 rebounds in the battle for Florida between Each 1 Teach 1 and Nike South Beach as he led his squad to an 87-72 win. He helped Nike South Beach to an 8-8 record, which was good enough to earn a spot in the Peach Jam.

5. 2017 6’ 8” PF Jarred Vanderbilt (Houston Hoops) 16 points, 21 rebounds, 7 assists, 7-10 FG, 1-9 FT
Vanderblit finished a strong regular season by averaging a double-double with 13.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. Houston Hoops took down Pro Skills 80-68 behind a gargantuan performance from their big man. Vanderbilt was efficient from the field shooting 70% and scoring 16 points to go along with an impressive 21 rebounds and 7 assists.

Honorable Mention:

2017 6’ 6” SG Gary Trent, Jr. (Howard Pulley) 35 points, 8 rebounds, 10-17 FG, 11-13 FT
Trent, Jr. is the third-leading scorer in EYBL play with an average of 22.2 points per game. He led Howard Pulley to a 14-2 regular season record. Trent, Jr. is one of the top candidates for regular-season MVP.

2017 6’ 7” PF Marcos Santos-Silva (BABC) 22 points 20 rebounds, 8-14 FG, 6-7 FT
Santos-Silva had back-to-back monster-rebounding games in Session 4 as he posted 17 rebounds against the PSA Cardinals, then topped that with 20 rebounds versus NY Rens. He averaged 9.2 rebounds per game in the regular season.

2017 6’ 10” PF Wendell Carter, Jr. (Team CP3) 30 points 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, 13-17 FG
Carter, Jr. had a fierce game against Brandon Mccoy and DeAndre Ayton of California Supreme. He averages 16.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game and hasn’t lost a game in EYBL play. He's another strong Candidate for regular season MVP.

2018 6’ 11” PF Marvin Bagley III (Phoenix Phamily) 28 points, 16 rebounds, 10-17 FG, 8-11 FT
Bagley, playing above his age group, finished fifth in scoring and seventh in rebounding during the EYBL regular season. He averaged 20.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the Phoenix Phamily.

2017 6’ 5” SF John Petty, Jr. (Team Penny) 32 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 12-15 FG, 7-9 from 3
John Petty, Jr. had a breakout performance against the Alabama Challenge when he established himself as the second star on Team Penny beside PJ Washington. He averages a solid 14.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

2017 6’ 3” PG Alex Barcello (Oakland Soldiers) 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, 7-20 FG, 14-17 FT
Although the Oakland Soldiers went 0-5 in Session 4, Barcello played well, scored 26 or more points in four out of five games, and dropped 36 points in his final game of the regular season. He averaged 18.9 points per game on the season.

2017 6’ 10” PF Mitchell Robinson (Pro Skills) 18 points, 16 rebounds, 7 blocks, 9-10 FG
Robinson led Pro Skills to a win over Howard Pulley, which finished the season 14-2. The win brought Pro Skills to 8-8 and clinched them a Peach Jam birth. Robinson was dominant this season, averaging 15.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.1 blocks per game.

2017 6’ 6” SG Charles O’Bannon, Jr. (Las Vegas Prospects) 37 points, 4 rebounds, 11-17 FG, 11-15 FT
O’Bannon, Jr. scored an efficient 37 points in a big win against NY Rens, which led the Las Vegas Prospects to a 93-88 win. O’Bannon, Jr. has been a prolific scorer in the EYBL, averaging 20.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in regular season play.

2017 6’ 6” PG Troy Brown, Jr. (Las Vegas Prospects) 30 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 13-26 FG
Brown, Jr. enjoyed an incredible Session 4, as he put up a double-double in all five games. His most impressive performance was in a 69-66 loss to Team United. Brown averaged 15.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game during the EYBL regular season.

2017 6’ 0” PG Quade Green (PSA Cardinals) 22 pts, 13 assists, 3 steals, 8-13 FG, 5-6 FT
Green put up an impressive stat line of 14.1 points, 10.5 assists (EYBL lead), and 2.9 steals per game and brought the PSA Cardinals to a tie atop the EYBL standings with a 14-2 record.
