2017 6' 9" SF Michael Porter Jr put on a show at the Peach Jam, leading Mokan Elite to a perfect mark of 8-0 and averaging 26.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He was dominant in all facets of the game for Mokan Elite, scoring at will finishing monster dunks at the basket, hitting step-back three's despite tight defense, and establishing himself firmly in the conversation for number one player in the 2017 class.

On Friday, Michael Porter Jr decided to join his father at Washington, committing to the Huskies following a Peach Jam title. When asked about his father taking the job in Washington, at the Peach Jam, Porter Jr said, "When my dad took the job at Washington, he told me, him going to Washington doesn't mean he expects me to go there. I mean that helps a lot for the program in terms of me going there. It was a family decision; he asked me if him going to Washington was going to pressure me to go there because he wanted me to make my own decision. I told him no and I just wanted what was best for the family and I'm excited." Porter Jr decided to join his godfather and father with the Washington Huskies, bringing an elite scoring punch to an already talented Huskies lineup that will look to compete for a Pac-12 title and possible a national championship.

He impacts the game in so many ways for his team and will be an instant impact player at the next level for the Huskies. His ability to score the ball at a high level while keeping his teammates involved is rare for a player his age. When asked about what coaches see in him at the next level, he said "They really all tell me the same thing, that I am going to be a scorer at the next level, I am going to have the ball in my hands a lot and really just that they can develop me for the league in one year. That's really an important piece of my decision, I want to be one-and-done hopefully."

Although Porter Jr wouldn't commit to his eventual decision at the Peach Jam, he did discuss how he felt he would fit in at Washington, saying, "I try to be a winner, and I really want to go to a school that doesn't just develop me but can win. I feel that Washington is right there and I feel with a few pieces and some veterans that will stay there, I think that team, if I was to go there, could have success in the postseason."

Michael Porter Jr is headed to play in the Pac-12 with the Washington Huskies, brining yet another impressive one-and-done prospect to the Huskies roster. His godfather Lorenzo Romar hired Michael Porter Sr onto the staff in May and his two sons 2018 Jontay Porter and 2017 Michael Porter Jr will join their father at Washington.
