The class of 2017's 6-7 small forward Brian Bowen carried the Meanstreets to a Peach Jam berth and led his team in points and rebounds during the regular season and postseason play. When catching up with him at the Peach Jam, he noted six visits he has taken and possible future visits. The highly coveted wing's recruitment is heating up. He plans to cut his list shortly, although he has no timetable for a final decision.

"I have taken visits to Michigan and Michigan State, and I also went to UNLV a couple of weeks ago," Bowen said. "During the season, I went to Kentucky, Texas, and North Carolina State."

When the Saginaw, Michigan, native was asked about his relationship with Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo, he said, "He texted me the past couple days, telling me how much I have improved over the years and he has seen me for awhile and he just loves my improvement and how aggressive I am. He loves my improvement and it truly means a lot to me." When asked about Michigan and John Beilein, he said, "They are both pretty much doing the same thing: telling me just keep going hard, leading my teammates and just keep getting wins."

He also discussed the possibility of cutting his list and a timetable on his decision,
It all depends on how I feel, you know. I could have 8-10 on my list and then if I want to commit I am going to commit. It all depends on how my family feels and how I feel about the program, but there is no specific timetable.

Plenty of other schools are also chomping at the bit for his services and pushing for Bowen to take visits. "A lot of schools want me to get to their campus it all depends on my time schedule and everything so I really have to sit down and look at my schedule and see when I can get to their schools."

Indiana, which is close to his current high school, La Lumiere, has also been pushing hard for a visit. "Coach Crean and his assistants, they have been texting me, they want me to get to the campus to visit them. I think I may do it, I'm not really sure yet maybe this second week or in August but I definitely want to get down there."
