A 6-foot-7 small forward, Wilkes is scheduled to take an official visit to Florida State on September 9, and chose the Seminoles over several other high-major programs, including Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Nebraska, and Tennessee.

Wilkes is the fourth member of Florida State's 2017 recruiting class, joining Polite, Dillard (Fla.) forward RaiQuan Gray and Sunrise Christian (Kan.) guard Bryan Trimble.
