A son will get a chance to play for his father. A younger brother will be reunited with his older brother on the hardwood in college. Those two scenarios will become a reality next year now that Bishop Montgomery (CA) shooting guard Ethan Thompson has committed to Oregon State.

At 6-foot-4, Thompson, one of the country's best shooting guards, chose the Beavers over Syracuse and Stanford. His father, Stephen, is an assistant coach at Oregon State. His brother, Stephen Jr., is coming off a strong freshman campaign there as well.

Thompson, who went on an official visit last weekend and made his announcement on Monday, is the first commitment for Oregon State in 2017, and it is a memorable one for many reasons.
