Evan Battey made his announcement time clear. It would be on his 18th birthday at his school, Villa Park (CA.), during lunch. The 6-foot-7 forward stuck with the plan.

On Tuesday, Battey, a 2017 prospect, committed to Colorado via Periscope.

A big and powerful post product with a good outside shot and handles, Battey chose the Buffaloes over Purdue and Miami (FL) -- the other two programs he took official visits to.



Battey is the third 2017 commitment for Colorado and head coach Tad Boyle. He joins the talented pair of Tyler Bey and D'shawn Schwartz, who visited the campus the same weekend as Battey earlier in September.
