Let's take a look at the teams and stars who stole the show during the two-day event at Rocky River High School this past Friday and Saturday.

BEST GAME:

No. 24 Providence Day 76, Concord JM Robinson 71

North Carolina's hottest basketball teams to start the 2016-17 campaign took the floor late Saturday night for the CHC finale. Both teams entered the season looking to defend their 3A state championships -- Providence Day (independent) and JM Robinson (public) -- and their matchup did not disappoint.

Providence Day came off the tip fast and quickly built a commanding 19-1 lead as Robinson struggled to stop Trey Wertz, who found the bottom of the net on all four 3-point attempts in the first quarter. It didn't last long. A strong surge in the second quarter from Lavar Batts not only put Robinson back in the game but also with a two-point lead at halftime.

It wasn't until midway through the fourth quarter that the No. 24 Chargers took control.

JM Robinson had no answer for Wertz, who went on to score 30 points on 12-for-18 shooting, while Providence Day's Devon Dotson chipped in 20. Batts finished with 34 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER:

Austin Wiley
Class of 2017
The Conrad Academy (Auburn signee)

There's no hiding it. Austin Wiley is BIG. He's the type of center who takes up square footage and eats up smaller talent on the high school circuit. At 6-foot-11, the highly regarded Flo40 big man is strong and assertive in the paint with good court vision. In the game against Independence High School (NC), Wiley knocked in 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. The next day, Wiley added 22 points and 10 rebounds.

For the weekend, the senior was an exceptionally efficient, going 17 for 21 from the field to earn FloHoops Most Outstanding Player honors.
