
Tusculum forward Jami Tham has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 5 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday.
Tham, a graduate student from Arlington, Virginia, averaged 24.5 points and 15.5 rebounds and shot 69% from the field to help the Pioneers extend their winning streak to seven games with wins over UVA Wise (75-59) and Mars Hill (80-68).
Tham finished with 18 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds in the win over UVA Wise on Wednesday, then scored a career-high 31 points on 13-for-14 shooting, plus 15 rebounds, in Saturday's win at Mars Hill.
Tham also extended her streak of consecutive double-doubles to 10 in as many games.
