Lincoln Memorial guard Chase Rankin has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 9 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday.

Rankin, a graduate student from Columbus, Ohio, led the No. 5 Railsplitters to a pair of victories last week, including a 108-63 win over SAC foe Anderson. 

He averaged 16 points, nine assists and 7.5 rebounds for the week, while shooting 85.7% from the field and 66.7% from long range. 

Rankin had a near triple-double performance against Anderson, scoring 19 points, plus 13 assists and eight rebounds.
