This marks the fifth season of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award. It is named after the four-time All-American and 1999 inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, and it's awarded annually to the top shooting guard in NCAA women’s basketball.
A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates in November, which has been narrowed to 10.
This list will be narrowed down to five players in late February, and the the finalists will be selected in late March. Those names will be presented to Nancy Lieberman and the selection committee. The award will be presented on a to-be-determined date.
College basketball fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting presented by Dell Technologies in each of the three rounds.
Fan Voting presented by Dell Technologies will start on Feb. 3.
Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite players. The top 5 player selections on the fan vote will get an additional vote toward making the next round.
Drexel is the only team in the country with a player in the top 10 for both the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year and Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year awards.
Maura Hendrixson was announced Monday as a top-10 candidate for the Nancy Lieberman award .
