Drexel’s seven-game winning streak came to an end after taking a 70-67 loss to Towson on the road last week.

Drexel trailed by as many as 15 points in the second half and were able to make it a one possession game, however Towson continued to respond with points of their own. The Tigers will look to build off this momentum after  winning five of their last six and remaining unbeaten at home.

After taking their first loss in CAA play, Drexel still remains at the forefront of the standings at 8-1. Last year’s 2023 CAA tournament champions, Charleston, as well as Towson, both sit two games behind in the rankings tied at 6-2.

This past week in CAA Men’s basketball also included three games being decided in the final minutes or overtime on Jan.27.

Stony Brook was able to stun UNCW at home winning 86-78 in OT, this was the end of a five game win streak for UNCW. William and Mary were able to snap a four game losing streak by beating Northeastern 72-68. Chase Lowe’s game-winning layup sealed the deal for the Tribe after Northeastern pulled even in the final minute.

Monmouth defeated Hofstra 81-78 led by Xander Rice who finished with 31 points while also hitting his 1,500 career point milestone.

CAA Men’s Basketball now has six teams tied in the rankings at 4-4 in conference play. Here’s everything you need to know as we enter February.
