Wingate’s Donell Nixon has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the sixteenth week of the 2023-34 season, the Conference announced today.

Nixon, a senior from Buford, Ga., piled up 24 points, 5.5 assists, three rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game last week, shooting 51 percent from the field, 47 percent from deep and going 5-7 at the line. He had 23 points and seven assists at Lenoir-Rhyne and poured in 25 points against UVA Wise, adding four assists, four rebounds, and three steals as the ‘Dogs clinched a share of their first regular season SAC title since the 2006-07 season.
