The CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is underway in the nation’s capitol as teams compete for the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament that begins March 19 in Dayton, Ohio. 

The men’s tournament kicks off a two week CAA take over of the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.. 

Defending champion College of Charleston Basketball is the favorite to win the tournament. The Cougars began their CAA tournament run with a 83-59 win over Monmouth on March 10.

CAA Men's Basketball Tournament Schedule

All Times Eastern

  • Round 1 will begin Friday, March 8 with game one at 2pm Game two will be played at 4:30pm
  • Round 2 will begin Saturday, March 9 with four games from 12 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 
  • Quarterfinals will begin Sunday, March 10 with four games from 12 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 
  • Semifinals will begin Monday, March 11 at 6pm and 8:30pm 
  • The championship game will begin Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Where Is The 2024 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

The CAA men’s tournament will be returning to Washington, D.C. All games will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. 

When Does The 2024 NCAA Tournament Start?

The tournament will begin with Selection Sunday on March 17, followed by the First Four on March 19-20. 

After the opening round is complete, the field will be set with the top 64 teams and the first round will start on March 21-22.

What Is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day the NCAA committee releases the full tournament bracket initial seeding of all 68 teams. 

Thirty-two teams will automatically qualify for the tournament by winning their conference tournament. 

That leaves 36 other teams fighting for an at-large bid from the selection committee, which is considered through multiple stats and rankings to determine who receives the at-large bid.
