Monmouth women’s basketball is preparing for a season of growth in the Coastal Athletic Association. The Hawks finished last year 16-15 overall and 10-8 in conference play, showing flashes of a team capable of climbing the standings.

With head coach Cait Wetmore at the helm, Monmouth will look to turn competitive stretches into consistent results.

Beyond its established leaders, Monmouth enters 2025-26 with a roster that blends veteran contributors and international talent. Experienced players like Ella Farrelly and Divine Dibula provide size, while newcomers such as Madalena Amaro and Claudia Xaudaro provide fresh energy and speed.

Combined with a nonconference schedule that includes Kentucky and Yale, the Hawks will be tested early before navigating the grind of CAA play.

Dibula Earns CAA Preseason Honorable Mention

Divine Dibula, junior forward, was recognized in the CAA Preseason Honorable Mention awards, the first Monmouth Hawks player to snag the honor since 2023-24.

Rebounding Was A Winning Edge

The Hawks averaged 40.2 rebounds per game last season and posted a +4.4 margin on the glass. That advantage kept them in close games and remains central to their style of play.

Ranked 7th in CAA Preseason Poll

Monmouth was voted eighth in the CAA preseason coaches poll. The Hawks earned 71 points and sit above Hofstra and right below Towson.
