Carson-Newman begins the 2025–26 season with its sights set firmly on another postseason run after being picked fourth in the SAC preseason coaches’ poll. The Eagles finished 21-12 overall a year ago, blending offensive firepower with consistency on the boards.

Head coach Chuck Benson’s group is led by preseason All-Conference forward Jack Browder, one of the league’s premier scorers and rebounders. Browder averaged 19.7 points and 8.9 rebounds last season while earning Academic All-America and SAC Player of the Week honors four times.

Joining Browder is Player to Watch Braden Ilic, an inside-out threat who averaged double figures in his first season at Carson-Newman. Together, they form one of the most productive frontcourt duos in the conference.

The Eagles open the new campaign Nov. 15 against Lees-McRae, eager to build on a foundation that has kept them among the SAC’s most respected programs.
