Daemen, Washburn, Anderson, Cal State East Bay Basketball Remain Undefeated
Washburn, Anderson, Cal State East Bay, and Daemen Basketball are the four remaining undefeated teams in D2 Men's Basketball.

Only four D2 Men's Basketball teams are left with an unblemished record as we cross the halfway point in the season, but the question is, who will carry the streak forward the longest?
Washburn, Anderson, Cal State East Bay, and Daemen Basketball are the four remaining undefeated teams, with Washburn and Daemen battling for the top spot each week in the NABC Coaches Rankings and all four holding strong within the top 10 (No. 1 Washburn, No. 2 Daemen, No. 4 Anderson, No. 7 Cal State East Bay).

Here's a quick look at the four unbeatens and where their biggest test lies ahead.
Anderson Basketball
No. 4 Anderson Basketball has notched 14-straight victories for its best start in program history. The Trojans have been rolling through the competition, taking 13 of the last 14 wins by a margin of 10 points or more. Their most notable win came before the holiday, earning a 94-80 victory over SAC league foe Carson-Newman. AU was dominant in almost all statistical categories with 52 points in the paint to Carson-Newman's 34 while also shooting 50.7% from the field and 39.1% from behind the arc.
Their next big test? Anderson travels across state lines to face No. 21 Lenoir-Rhyne. While Anderson holds a close 19-12 record over the Bears, Lenoir-Rhyne has won the last three meetings. The Bears lead the SAC in shooting, averaging 90.7 points per game. The Trojans are strong from behind the arc, but will need to work on their defensive rebounding if they want to continue this historic run.
Daemen Basketball
No. 2 Daemen's 18-game winning streak ranks as the third longest across all three levels of NCAA basketball, behind only Division III Trinity College (30 straight wins) and Division I University of Nebraska (20 straight wins). The Wildcats have captured a quartet of wins against nationally-ranked teams this season, as they've defeated No. 19 Lenoir-Rhyne (Nov. 1), No. 5 Fairmont State (Nov. 18), No. 21 Assumption (Dec. 17), and No. 22 Adelphi (Jan. 1).
Their next big test? The Wildcats have just over a month before they host St. Thomas Aquinas for a potential matchup that could cause some challenges. The Spartans are one of the few teams in the ECC who have caused chaos for the Wildcats in recent years, holding a 23-15 record over Daemen. The Spartans are elite at causing turnovers, so ball safety will be a big key if Daemen wants to keep their win streak alive through Valentine's Day weekend.
Cal State East Bay Basketball
No. 7 Cal State East Bay Basketball raced past Cal Poly Humboldt 95-53 to extend the longest winning streak in program history to 14 games. Saturday's victory marked the program's highest single-game point total since December 2021, when the Pioneers put up 105 against Cal State LA.
East Bay's biggest weapon? Their suffocating defense. The Pioneers (14-0) piled up 13 steals—four by Matthew Williams—and turned them into 22 fast-break points. They dominated the glass 45-27 and shared it beautifully with 26 assists, the most by any CCAA team in a game this season. The Lumberjacks were held to 38.6 percent shooting and just 2-for-14 on 3-pointers.
Their next big test? The Pioneers host Cal State San Marcos on January 22nd in a matchup that could put a wrinkle in their perfect season. San Marcos has taken the last two matchups over East Bay, with the last win coming to the Cougars in a dominant 81-67 victory.
Washburn Basketball
No. 1 Washburn improved to 16-0 (6-0 MIAA) after topping Northwest Missouri 76-53 last time out on Jan. 10. The Ichabods have captured a handful of wins against nationally ranked teams this season, as they defeated No. 3 Dallas Baptist (Nov. 2), No. 4 Lubbock Christian (Dec. 16), and No. 4 West Texas A&M (Dec. 17).
The Ichabods have the No. 3-ranked scoring offense in the MIAA, putting up 88.6 ppg just behind Missouri Southern's 89.3 ppg and Northeastern State's 89.0. Defensively, the Ichabods have the No. 2-ranked scoring defense, allowing 61.0 ppg behind Fort Hays State's 60.0 ppg.
The Ichabods are coming off one of the best seasons in program history with an NCAA Final Four appearance, an NCAA Central Regional Championship, and an MIAA regular season title with a 30-4 overall record after going 17-2 in MIAA play.
Their next big test? Washburn will travel to Topeka, Kansas, to face the Gorillas from Pittsburg State. While the Ichabods are on a ten-game win streak over the Gorillas, Pittsburg State is the No. 2 team in the MIAA, and anything can happen if you let your focus slip this close to the postseason buzz.
