Here Are The CAA Women's Basketball Players Of The Week For Jan. 26

The 2025-26 CAA Hoops Season is still going strong! Another week of action has concluded and the CAA weekly honors have been announced. Here's the news!

The 2025-26 CAA basketball season is still going strong. With conference play in full swing, there are plenty of players who are giving it their all week in and week out. 

For the week of Jan. 26, there are two categories that the CAA women's players of the week can be sorted in to. 

The CAA Player of the Week sees a first time award winner in Deja Evans from Drexel University. The CAA Rookie of the Week is a back-to-back selection, as Ashanti Fox from Elon University claims her second accolade of the season. 

With the season hitting it's peak, these two teams are in the middle of the pack in the CAA standing as Drexel and Elon both sit with a 4-3 record in CAA play thus far. 

These teams are both back in action on Jan. 30, so here is an in-depth look at these CAA women's players of the week and the remaining schedules for these two teams. 

CAA Women's Player of The Week

The CAA Women's Player of The Week selection is an athlete who put in absolute work in the most recent week of basketball action.

Deja Evans comes in as the CAA Women's Player of The Week after a standout performance that lead Drexel to a 2-0 weekend for the first time this season. 

The junior forward from Drexel obliterated her season averages in the two contest against Stony Brook and Towson. In the contest against Stony Brook, Evans tallied 13 points and nine rebounds. In the game against Towson, the forward claimed 10 points and five boards. On the weekend, Evans also had 5 steals int he contest against Stony Brook. 

On the season, Evans has a .519 percentage from the field and a .786 percentage from the free throw line. 

CAA Women's Rookie Of The Week

The CAA Women's Rookie of The Week is very similar if you have kept up with the CAA players of the week before.

The rookie of the week selection is Ashanti Fox from Elon University for the second week in a row. Fox picks up the accolade after leading her team in scoring for the second time in the 2025-26 season. 

For the seventh time this season, the freshman guard surpassed double figures as she tallied 16 points in the victory over NC A&T.  In the game against Elon, Fox picked up two boards, two assists and two steals to aid in her pursuit of back to back rookie of the week titles.
