The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) enters the 2026-27 women’s basketball campaign with three new head coaches and a lot of returning talent.

Last season, Washington and Lee hoisted the regular season and Tournament trophies high after posting a perfect ODAC record and a 31-1 overall record. Randolph-Macon was just behind the Generals in conference standings, ranking second with a 13-3 conference record. With minimal roster turnover, we can expect these teams to headline the conference again this season.

Which ODAC Women’s Basketball Programs Have A New Head Coach?

One-quarter of ODAC Women’s Basketball Programs enter the 2026-27 season under new leadership.

After taking over the EMU Royals program in 2018, head coach Jenny Posey stepped down from her role in March 2026. Tori Jankoska succeeds her as the head of the program and comes with extensive experience. Although this is her first head coaching opportunity, Jankoska has coached and played at the professional and collegiate levels, including multiple NCAA D1 institutions and the WNBA.

In June, Lynchburg announced Christina Harvey as the newest head coach of the Hornets’ women’s basketball program. Harvey is no stranger to small-school hoops: she played collegiately at Pfeiffer (NCAA D2) and coached at Alvernia (NCAA D3), Gannon (NCAA D2), Young Harris College (NCAA D2) and Henderson State (NCAA D2).

Roanoke hired Tessa Hampton, former assistant coach at Shenandoah, as the head women’s basketball coach in late July 2026. She served as Associate Head Coach for the Hornets for four seasons following three years as an assistant coach for the ODAC program. From 2015-19, Hampton played for Emory & Henry, helping her class to a best-ever 83-27 record with three trips to the ODAC Tournament.
