There will be two ocean liners docked that will house the "Olympic Family" and the other will host USA Basketball squad. The "Olympic Family" refers to influential individuals linked to the IOC.
The ocean liner that'll host Team USA will also house their guests. The organizing committee already informed UOL Esporte that American basketball players will not live in the Olympic Village. USA Basketball won't announce the off-site housing location due to security reasons.
This isn't the first time a hosting country has used an ocean liner to house Olympic participants. In 2004, Athens hosted a number of individuals on an ocean liner including Team USA, George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and Jacques Chirac.
