Starting this year the NCAA made the declaration that underclassmen can declare for the NBA Draft, go through the NBA combine, and come back to school. This is great for the player because one can see how they're rated by an NBA scout and come back if there's no chance of making an NBA squad.
Isaiah Whitehead of Seton Hall is taking that chance. The 6'4" guard is looking to see how his draft stock compares to his peers. It's unclear if Whitehead will hire an agent but he has until 10 days after the combine to return to school.
Whitehead averaged 18.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists for the Seton Hall Pirates. Seton Hall got bounced opening night of the NCAA Tournament, losing to Gonzaga 68-52. Whitehead scored 10 points on 4 of 24 shooting.
