The CIF high school basketball championships have a new home.
Staying in Sacramento, the CIF basketball championships will take place at the new home of the Sacramento Kings, Golden 1 Center. The California Interscholastic Foundation made the announcement that the 2017 and 2018 championships will take place in the $507 million arena.
The Golden 1 Center aims to be the most sustainable arena ever. In addition to seating 17,500 individuals, the Golden 1 Center will also source 90% of its food and beverages from local areas within a 150-mile radius. Also, the arena will be the first in the world to get its energy exclusively from solar panels.
