The Five Best Players Ever from the Oakland Soldiers
It’s April, which means the start of the AAU season is upon us. Our first stop is the Oakland Soldiers’ Spring Hoops Festival, and all coverage of the 17U division will be broadcasted live on FloHoops.

For those unfamiliar with the Oakland Soldiers, this Nike Elite Youth Basketball League squad is synonymous with developing not only future NCAA Division I talent, but also NBA stars like Aaron Gordon, Brandon Jennings, and more.

We put together a list of the five best players to put on the Oakland Soldiers uniform.

5. Aaron Gordon

This guy can jump out of the gym despite measuring 6’9” and weighing 220 lbs. The Orlando Magic have a great talent in Gordon, and after the 2016 NBA Dunk Contest, he’s starting to become a fan favorite.

4. Kendrick Perkins

Perkins was a force to be reckoned with when he entered the league in 2003. While the second half of his career has been a downer, Perkins earned a NBA title in 2008 with the Boston Celtics.

3. Brandon Jennings

Brandon Jennings hasn’t been in the spotlight lately, but he was a top player when he graduated high school and did some great things for the Milwaukee Bucks. During his rookie year, Brandon Jennings dropped 55 points in a game and led the Bucks to the NBA Playoffs. Now, Jennings is running point in Orlando with another Oakland Soldier, Aaron Gordon.

2. Chauncey Billups

Chauncey Billups was an NBA journeyman, but found a home in Detroit. Billups led the Pistons to a NBA title over the Lakers in 2004. Also, Billups made five NBA All-Star Game appearances in addition to his NBA title and finals MVP designation.

1. LeBron James

In high school, the King lived in Oakland during the summer so he could play for the Soldiers.
