Most Dominant Teams
 | Howard Pulley (MN), 7-0, and California Supreme, (CA) 5-2
Howard Pulley and California Supreme were the only two teams to go 4-0 in Minnesota for session two of the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). Howard Pulley remains the only unbeaten team left in play behind star Gary Trent, Jr. (2017 6-6 SG) who averaged 24 points per game during session two and showed why he is highly regarded as a top 10 player nationally. For California Supreme, their twin towers down low were very impressive, as DeAndre Ayton (2017 7-0 C) averaged 24.5 points and 12.5 rebounds and Brandon McCoy (2017 7-0 C) averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game in session two play. These two teams are white-hot and won a combined 11-straight games in early EYBL play.

MVP | DeAndre Ayton: 24.5 points, 12.5 rebounds per game
He was simply dominant in session two as he averaged a double-double and shot 70 percent from the field while leading his struggling team to a 4-0 record in Minnesota. In his most impressive game, he netted 30 points and tallied 17 rebounds against the talented E1T1 United to help California Supreme dominate 96-82. Watch for Ayton on the AAU summer circuit.

Breakout Performer | 2017 6-9 PF Rayshaun Hammonds: 22 points, 9.75 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks
He did everything he could to keep the Alabama Challenge alive in session two. Although his team went 1-3, two of the three losses were by four points or less, including a 77-73 loss to the Oakland Soldiers in which Hammonds collected 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Hammonds is a name to watch moving forward in EYBL play as he has started the season with impressive numbers for a struggling 2-5 Alabama Challenge.

Top Fresh Face | 2017 6-10 PF Wendell Carter: 18.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2 blocks
Carter entered EYBL play with a bang for his new team, Team CP3. The EYBL veteran led his team to a 3-1 record in the second session and notched 12 points, 21 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a 78-67 win over Southern Stampede (GA). He definitely stood out in session two, and will remain a force for Team CP3.

Biggest Transfer: 2017 6-9 PF Billy Preston: 13.5 points, 8.8 rebounds
Preston moved to Houston Hoops after playing with RM5 Elite. One of the top talents in the class of 2017, Preston could make a major impact on the inside while teamed up with Jarred Vanderbilt (2017 6-9 PF). Although Houston Hoops went 1-3 in session two and is just 2-5 overall, expect them to find chemistry down the stretch and make a run to Peach Jam.

Power Struggle at the Top:
There is only one unbeaten team left in the EYBL after two weekends of play as Howard Pulley flexes at the top with a perfect 7-0. Behind them, three teams at 6-1 (Team Final, Mokan Elite, PSA Cardinals), and eight teams sitting strong at 5-2 (Team Takeover, California Supreme, Team CP3, Albany City Rocks, The Rens, Spiece Indy Heat, Team Penny, St Louis Eagles). Howard Pulley has only faced two teams with records of around .500, and when they beat Team Penny, they didn’t have Carter yet. PSA Cardinals look great with the leading assister Quade Green (2017 6-0 PG) and the leading rebounder Mohamed Bamba (2017 7-0 C), but they slipped against Team Final. That team is also 6-1 and took down Team Takeover, Team Penny and the PSA Cardinals last weekend. Mokan Elite has the deadliest duo in the EYBL with Michael Porter, Jr. (2017 6-8 PF) and Trae Young (2017 6-2 PG), and California Supreme went 4-0 last weekend looking unstoppable down low. There is also a power struggle going on at the top of Division A as Team Takeover, Team CP3, Albany City Rocks, and California Supreme (CA) all are tied atop the standings with 5-2 records. It's safe to say that after two weekends, nobody has all the answers to the toughest circuit in the nation will play out this summer.
