Howard Pulley Dominates at Day 2 of Invitational
Howard Pulley dominated at the second day of the Howard Pulley Invitational in Minnesota.
The second day of competition belonged all to Howard Pulley.
The Panthers of Howard Pulley came into their own tournament as favorites and they've exuberated excellence thus far.
The 17u team was again without Gary Trent Jr. but that proved to be no issue for the Minnesota EYBL squad. Howard Pulley was led by Brad Davison and Daniel Oturu once again. Their first game of the day was against the Minnesota Suns. Ending in an 89-39 victory for the Panthers, the game featured athletic play from Davison, Oturu and Isaac Johnson. Davison had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Oturu had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Johnson finished with 16 points and 5 assists.
Up next was the Minnesota Phenom. In this contest, Oturu had two off-the-backboard dunks that drove the crowd into a frenzy. Final score ended up being 74-44, advantage Howard Pulley. Davison had 25 points and 5 assists. Tre Jones finished with 13 points and 7 assists, and Jeremiah Coddon completed the stat sheet with 10 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Now those performances don’t even measure to the best of the day.
The best of the day belonged to Howard Pulley 16u guard, Ryan Larson. In a ten-point victory over Powerhouse, Larson flirted with a quadruple-double. Yes, you read that right. Larson’s final stat line included 18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals.
Howard Pulley looks to have a clean sweep on championship Sunday. The 15u, 16u, and 17u playoffs begin at 8am CT on FloHoops.
