The United States Men's basketball team needs to regroup after Friday night's game against Serbia. A massively talented team, they are struggling to put lesser teams away. That's what happened against Serbia. Coach Krzyzewski is having a hard time finding the right lineup to exploit opposing teams' weaknesses. 

The game was a lot closer than it should have been, especially in the final minutes. The American team started strong, taking a 27-15 lead in the first quarter. When the first half ended, they led by nine. But the team just fell apart in the second half. They were outscored 29-22 in the final period of play. In fact, the Serbian team nearly forced OT in the final seconds of play. 

The real talk is that this team needs to come together. They struggled from the field and nearly lost against a team they should have dominated thoroughly. There's something to be said about expectations and effort. They expect to blow out everyone they face, but aren't putting in the effort to do so. 

If they play like this after pool play, they aren't going to be winning a gold medal. This may not be the 2004 Olympic team, but this squad had been an immense disappointment. Klay Thompson and Boogie Collins need to perform better because as of right now, they're just wasted roster spots.
