One of the nation's top point guards is staying close to home. Nick Weatherspoon will play his college ball less than 100 miles away from Velma Jackson (MS) at Mississippi State.
Weatherspoon, a 6-foot-2 guard for 2017 who many believe is around a Top 30 overall prospect, committed via Twitter on Sunday. He chose the Bulldogs over other offers from Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, LSU, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, among many others.

Weatherspoon is the first member of Ben Howland's 2017 class at Mississippi State. His brother, Quinndary, also attends and plays guard for the Bulldogs.
