Many dread the Monday morning alarm clock. Trevon Duval was ready for it. After months of anticipation, and plenty of speculation, the nation's top point guard and No. 3 prospect in the country kicked off the week by making headlines and committing to Duke for next season.

A 6-foot-3 floor general with incredible athleticism and competitiveness, the IMG Academy (FL) leader and Delaware native announced his decision to be a Blue Devil over Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, and Seton Hall via The Players' Tribune:

Basketball has taken me from Queens, to Delaware, to places I never even dreamed of when I first started dribbling. I couldn't have made it here without my dad, who has always kept me hungry, and my mom, who has always kept me humble. And with their blessing, today, I'm ready to announce the next step in my journey.

Duke already had a loaded 2017 class, featuring Flo40 No. 5 forward Wendell Carter and Flo40 No. 11 shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. as well as point guards Alex O'Connell and Jordan Goldwire and wing Jordan Tucker, who recently committed over the weekend, but Duval is a prized pickup who will be ready to take college basketball by storm next season.
