Paradise Jam Plans To Evaluate Options Following Hurricane Maria
Due to the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean, Basketball Travelers, Inc. is evaluating its options and is still looking into holding the 2017 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands in November.

With the damage caused by Hurricane Irma and now Hurricane Maria, the tournament directors will travel to the USVI in the coming days to find the best location for the men's and women's tournaments, which will be broadcast exclusively on FloHoops. The 2016 tournaments were held at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas.

Here is a recent statement from Basketball Travelers:

It remains our utmost priority to ensure the safety of our local staff, while evaluating the possibility of holding the 2017 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

We appreciate everyone's patience while we work to establish communication in the USVI and evaluate the damage caused by Hurricane Irma. We remain thankful that no member of our local staff was seriously injured during the storm. The people of the Virgin Islands are very resilient and the process of recovery has already begun.

As of this update, Hurricane Maria is expected to pass within 20 miles of St. Croix as a major hurricane on Tuesday night. We will re-evaluate options after the storm. Paradise Jam tournament directors will be traveling to the Virgin Islands next week to assess the situation.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to resolve this, while keeping the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands in your thoughts and prayers.
The men's tournament will be played from Nov. 17-20, while the women's tournament is Nov. 23-25.
