FloHoops' Top 25 Prep Rankings (March 6)

The rankings world became even more controversial than usual over the past few weeks as rumors loomed around fifth-year students enrolled on high-profile teams such as Sunrise Christian (KS) and, most recently, No. 2 Oak Hill (VA).

As of Tuesday, it appears that the student in question at Oak Hill has since been expelled from the school and kicked off the team. While the Warriors reportedly remain eligible to receive an impending invite to GEICO Nationals, their seed is still up in the air.

Despite removing teams in previous weeks that have committed similar infractions, Oak Hill will remain in the rankings as long as it is eligible for the national tournament.

Here's where the nation's best high school basketball teams stand as March begins to heat up and the GEICO Nationals picture becomes clearer.

Philadelphia 76ers Centerpiece Joel Embiid Is Dominating The NBA

Despite all the uncertainties nagging the Philadelphia 76ers front office, the nerve issues (both mental and physical) of their 2017 first overall pick, the apparent regression of their 2016 first overall pick and questions about the fit of their temperamental mid-season All-star acquisition, one thing is certain, Joel Embiid is dominating the NBA.

Pace & Space: Examining The True Cause Of The Scoring Spike In The NBA

There has been an offensive explosion in the NBA this year. Nearly every time I tune into an NBA game, I’m no longer shocked to see scores in the 140s or players dropping 50, or 54, or 60! OK, maybe it was surprising to see Derrick Rose score 50 points in 2018, but do 50-point nights truly not mean as much as they used to? Is this offensive explosion a result of the new rule changes this season, or the continuation of a long analytics-influenced trend toward pace and space?

I had to laugh the other day when I saw an NBA mock draft advertising that Zion Williamson is the new No. 1 pick and that his Duke teammate R.J. Barrett is "falling."
