Four players scored in double figures for Towson during a near-perfect opening night victory over George Washington on Tuesday night at SECU Arena.

The Tigers hadn't defeated George Washington since 1981. The victory snapped a nine game losing streak to the Colonials and was the program's first win on opening night since 2016.

Playing his first game in 594 days, Juwan Gray finished with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting — including a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc. Allen Betrand had 18 points and six rebounds in a career high 32 minutes of action.

Towson also got 12 points from senior Brian Fobbs and 11 points from freshman Jason Gibson. In addition, this was the 125th victory for head coach Pat Skerry at Towson.
