Florida State University, FL (ACC)
The Seminoles have been chosen to finish as #1 in the ACC for the 2020 season. Some key players that are returning for them are Caylan Arnold, Elizabeth Mason, Dani Morgan, Anna Shelnutt and Sydney Sherrill, who have also received some ACC preseason recognition. Losing their ace, Meghan King, will be a big loss for the Seminoles, have pitching experience returning. Their 2020 season is off to a hot start, holding a 6-0 record while also taking down Alabama twice already this season. For sure keep an eye on this powerhouse at THE Spring Games.
Indiana University, IN (Big Ten)
The Hoosiers finished their 2019 campaign with a final record of 36-21, which was their best record since 2011. They also set a program record for steals in a season with 141. They lose stand-out pitcher Tara Trainer, who finished second all-time for strikeouts in program history. The Hoosiers return six starters from last year's roster including Gabbi Jenkins, Taylor Lambert, Katie Lacefield, Grayson Radcliffe, Emily Goodin and Bella Norton. One of their strengths will also be the speed they have returning in Lambert, Jenkins and Tete Hart, who all had over 20 steals apiece. Don't count out this speedy squad this season.
University of Kentucky, KY (SEC)
The Kentucky Softball team was picked to finish fourth in the 2020 Southeastern Conference softball preseason poll. Despite losing their stand-out senior class, led by Abbey Cheek, Jenny Shaper and Katie Reed, UK returns some key pieces from its 2019 roster... All-SEC performer Kayla Kowalik and National Fastpitch Coaches' Association All-Region performer, Alex Martens. Additionally, Kentucky returns its entire pitching staff for 2020 paced by junior Grace Baalman and senior Autumn Humes.
