University of Delaware’s Jasmine Dickey has been honored as the National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), announced Tuesday.

The senior guard/forward led Delaware to a 2-0 week, averaging 38.0 points and 17.0 rebounds per game as the Blue Hens moved into a tie for first place in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) conference standings.

On Friday, Dickey had a performance for the ages, recording a career-high 52 points and tied a career-best with 18 rebounds. She added four assists, three steals and one block in a 103-79 victory over Charleston. Dickey’s scoring output set a Bob Carpenter Center facility record and ranks second all-time on Delaware and the CAA’s single game scoring list. She also became the first player since 2009-10 to post a stat line of 52 points and 18 rebounds in a game against a DI opponent. Additionally, she is the only player in NCAA DI this season with a 40+ and 50+ point performance.

On Sunday, she followed the performance with another double-double, tallying team-highs with 24 points and 16 rebounds in a victory over UNCW (77-62). On Sunday, Dickey moved into second place on Delaware’s all-time scoring list, reaching 1,680 points in her career.

The Baltimore, Md. native ranks second in the NCAA this season, averaging 25.4 points per game, and ranks third in the CAA, grabbing 9.5 rebounds per contest.
