Two GLIAC teams -- Grand Valley State and Michigan Tech -- are among the field of 64 that will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Women’s Committee announced late on Sunday evening.

Three GLIAC teams -- Northern Michigan, Ferris State and Parkside -- are among the field of 64 that will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Men’s Committee announced late on Sunday evening.

After a regular season full of surprises, the GLIAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments are set to start, with the higher-seeded team in each game earning the right to host those games.

Top seeds Parkside in the men's Tournament and Grand Valley in the women's look to both double up as 2022-23 GLIAC champions, and ensure themselves bids to NCAA Div. II Tournaments later this month.

The 2021-2022 season was a somewhat down year by GLIAC basketball standards.
