Dominant Trevon Duval Keeping Recruitment A Secret

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Trevon Duval could have committed on the spot Friday night. The keyword is could. He wasn’t ready, though, and he does not have any idea when that will be.

While the 6-foot-3 floor general, who is ranked No. 5 in 2017, dominates on the hardwood for No. 8 IMG Academy (FL), almost everyone wants to know the status of his recruitment. It’s hard to blame anyone because the media and fans of finalists Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Kansas, and Seton Hall want to find out, but Duval insists on keeping a secret.

That’s not to say he doesn’t pay attention to some things, however. During his game-high 16-point, five-assist night in a cruising 80-43 win over Mariner (FL), Duval took notice of Duke’s staff sitting courtside.

Duval will keep leading his undefeated squad at the Culligan City of Palms Classic this week, and while he does not always want to go through his recruiting status, he knows it will not stop until the announcement comes.
