Keldon Johnson's Impact Extends Beyond Scoring For Huntington Prep At National Hoopfest

TAMPA, FL — Keldon Johnson didn’t need the ball in his hands to have an impact Friday night. He just needed to be on the court. That much was obvious in No. 21 Huntington Prep’s 75-53 win over Oldsmar Christian during the ARS Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest.

The electric 6-foot-6 junior was all over the place.

Despite his shot not falling much and battling foul trouble in the first quarter, Johnson showed his all-around game with deflections, steals, extra passes, and all of the energy and leadership a team needs to be successful.

Johnson finished with nine points, while teammates Keyshawn Bryant dropped 20 and Rasir Bolton had 17.

For Oldsmar Christian, junior Elijah Weaver scored 18.

Johnson is the heart and soul of this squad. And while the statistics didn’t show on this night, anyone at Berkeley Prep knew his presence was important.
