Tavon Jones Laughing All The Way To New Jersey State Playoffs

ROSELLE, NJ -- Linden showed why it was the Union County Tournament's top seed Sunday afternoon with a 72-43 win over Plainfield at the PrimeTime Shootout. Junior guard Tavon Jones finished the Tigers' victory with a game-high 19 points.

Though the win was lofty, Linden isn't the high-flying, slam-dunking team you'd expect from a No. 1 seed. With its tallest players topping out at 6-foot-5, the Tigers used quick cuts, ball movement, and good old-fashioned strategy to break down Plainfield -- much like how Linden beat far larger opponents such as No. 19 The Patrick School and Roselle Catholic earlier this season.

It might not be time to celebrate yet, but the Tigers are enjoying the ride. FloHoops' Jaki Goldner chatted with a cheesy Jones after the game to discuss what goes into dismantling top programs and what to expect come playoffs.
