The Undefeated Darkhorse Down In Georgia Remains McEachern

The Undefeated Darkhorse Down In Georgia

The talent is undebatable. The competition is stiff. The predictions remain all over the place. Prior to the season, it was rather difficult to identity which squad was the best in Georgia, but it appears the front-runner is one very few truly pegged.

Most of the chatter surrounded the new pieces of Wheeler’s superstar team, or Pebblebrook’s title quest behind 2017 Flo40 No. 13 Collin Sexton, or even Norcross’ steady dose of high-major prospects. Yet, it is McEachern that holds perhaps the Peach State’s best chances of a national title as the playoffs ramp up.

McEachern? Yes, McEachern.

The Indians, who were regional champions last season, might not have the headliners or fanfare of some of the other teams they compete with, but you better believe this Powder Springs, GA, squad is for real. It has been all year long.

While all of the other teams hold multiple losses, McEachern, led by sophomore wing Isaac Okoro, has taken care of business with an undefeated mark of 27-0.

The battle for state glory is on. The road to get there will be rather difficult. When it is all said and done, though, the Indians might be Georgia’s only chance to get a team into Dick’s Nationals this season if they are able to run the table.
