New York Lightning's Jared Rhoden Brings His Lunch Pail To The Court

When it comes to playing New York Lightning, it is best to toss aside the flash and put on the hard hat. This squad gets after it on both ends, and perhaps nobody worked harder during the Nike EYBL season than Jared Rhoden.

A 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Bronx, NY, Rhoden was never afraid to get his hands dirty. He crashed the glass for offensive rebounds, ran the floor constantly on the break, and found little ways to impact the game. Add in a smooth range jumper, and it’s easy to understand why he led New York Lightning with 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game en route to a 10-6 record and No. 4 seed in Pool A in next month’s Peach Jam.

Rhoden was the only player to average double figures, but he didn’t do the damage all on his own. There are seven other players who averaged over six points per game.

However, Rhoden certainly sets the tone and will be out to make some noise on the big stage ahead.
