2017 No. 1 NBA Draft Pick Markelle Fultz Soars & Dominates At Les Schwab Invitational

All of the chatter and drama around the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft can be saved for another time. There will be no secrets or surprises this year.

Following a trade with the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers now plan to draft Washington guard Markelle Fultz with the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft.

Before the 6-foot-5 guard shakes NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s hand on Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, and even before he averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in his lone season with the Huskies, Fultz was getting buckets at DeMatha Catholic (MD).

At the 2015 Les Schwab Invitational live on FloHoops, Fultz threw down some nasty finishes and took second in the dunk contest behind Foss forward Roberto Gittens.

That wasn’t it, though. Fultz won tournament MVP honors following a 20-point performance against Oak Hill, despite losing in the championship game.

He also had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists in the semifinals against Garfield.

Fultz will undoubtedly make an impact in the NBA, and his performance at the 2015 Les Schwab will be something to look back on for the ages.
