Team CP3's Wendell Moore Jr. Shining As Nike E16's Top Player

Go ahead and try to find a prep prospect who has had a better stretch over the last few months than Wendell Moore Jr.

A slew of high-major offers. A North Carolina 3A state title at Cox Mill (NC), including posting 29 points and 12 rebounds in the championship. A milestone award in earning the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association’s Player of the Year for all state public schools. A Peach Jam berth. A gold medal with the USA Basketball men’s U16 national team at the FIBA U16 Americas.

Moore Jr. accomplished all of that before his junior year of high school.

After averaging 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists as a sophomore at Cox Mill, Moore has dominated Nike E16 to help Team CP3 (NC) earn a No. 1 seed in Pool C at next month’s Peach Jam in North Augusta, SC.

The way the 6-foot-6 wing made his mark is a big reason why he entered the 2019 Flo40 rankings for the first time at No. 30 on Wednesday.

Moore Jr., who already has offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, and Washington, is a superstar who does everything well. He’s active on defense, is tough as nails, and is an incredible finisher in transition. He’s just been playing E16 and not EYBL since Team CP3 is loaded with older prospects at the same position.

In due time, Moore will get even more time in the spotlight on the biggest of stages, but that won’t stop him from dominating as arguably the best player in the entire E16 league.
