Bill Self's 2018 Recruiting Plan To Keep Kansas Atop The Big 12

Kansas' 2018 Recruiting Targets

With Bill Self at the helm of Kansas, two things have become certain over the years: The Jayhawks will be favored to win the Big 12 Conference title, and they will make huge splashes on the recruiting trail.

There is no reason to expect anything different this year.

Kansas has won 13 consecutive regular season league titles, which is tied for the NCAA record, and has boasted several squads with multiple NBA draft picks. The reason is because Self continues to recruit top-notch talent, and you better believe a plan is in place to make sure it happens again.

In looking at the 2018 class, it’s obvious Self and his staff are targeting explosive athletes, especially at the guard and wing positions.

Jalen Carey and Ayo Dosunmu (Flo40 No. 26) are two combo guards who are incredibly tough to stop from getting to the rim, while Cameron Reddish (Flo40 No. 4) and Keldon Johnson (Flo40 No. 10) are elite wings with length who can score in bunches. Add versatile forward Emmitt Williams (Flo40 No. 14) to the list and it’s scary how athletic the Jayhawks’ class could be for 2018.

As long as Self is the head coach at KU, success on the court and the recruiting trail seem imminent, and the staff's eyes will be on these five prospects along with several other big names throughout the live evaluation periods and beyond.
