Why 2019 Flo40 Wing Wendell Moore Jr. Is The King Of North Carolina Prep Hoops

In the moments after Team CP3 captured the Nike EYBL E16 at Peach Jam title in mid-July, Chris Paul patted Wendell Moore Jr. on the chest and made sure to tell the hoops world what everyone inside the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta, SC, already knew.

“MVP right there,” the Houston Rockets star point guard said.

A 6-foot-5 wing with a knack for getting buckets, Moore couldn’t help but smile after he dropped 14 points in the championship game to lead Team CP3 (NC) to a 75-59 win over Athletes of Tomorrow.

It was another historic feat for the Flo40 No. 23 prospect in 2019.

What Moore has accomplished in his prep career is nothing short of impressive. To think he did it all in a basketball-rich state before his junior year is downright absurd.

Moore, who has a host of high-major offers and will play in this year’s Chick-fil-A Classic, already has a North Carolina 3A state title at Cox Mill (NC), a North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award, a gold medal with the USA Basketball men’s U16 national team, and now a E16 Peach Jam title.

All he does is win. That’s why he is the king of North Carolina’s prep hoops.

On Monday, Moore turned another year older, and it is a reminder to recognize what Moore has already achieved and think about what he might do with two years of his high school career still remaining.
